Step 1: First, you're gonna want to download a certain software that replaces your start screen with a start menu. There are a lot of third-party applications that do this like Classic Shell but if you wanna get a realistic start button for free, I'd recommend iObit's Start Menu 8. It has a lot of cool features and stuff. Go ahead and install it. This is what mine looked like:
Step 2: After you install that, it still feels a little bit like Windows 8, doesn't it? That's why you're gonna want to install the Windows 7 Aero Theme.
How To Install The Theme:
First, you're going to want to download UxStyle. It lets you download user themes and apply them. Then, you should download The Aero Theme. There's one for Windows 8 and one for Windows 8.1 Download The Theme And Open The .zip file. Then, open C:\Windows\Resources\Themes and drag all the files into the folder. You may need administrator privileges to do this. Lastly, you're gonna wanna click the Aero8Rounded-Default.theme icon. Then it would look a little more like Windows 7.
Step 3 (Optional): You may want transparency on your tabs on File Explorer for example. If that is the case, you might want to install WinAeroGlass. I wasn't a huge fan of it, but you might like it.
How To Install The Feature:
First, you should download the program. Then, open WinaeroGlass.exe. After that, everything should be transparent. To stop it, just log off and log back in. If you wanna have it start up every time you start your computer, you're gonna want to place WinaeroGlass.exe inside of
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup and it should work.
